I’m New Here

Whether you’re new to Nampa or just new to Lakeview Bible Church, you’re welcome here. We understand: new situations can sometimes be a little stressful. This info should help smooth your path toward your first visit. Let us know if you have more questions!

What can I expect?

• Come as you are. You don’t need a special outfit for church.
• We want to make our guests comfortable, so we don’t draw special attention to visitors… and there’s no “meet and greet” time. We hope you’ll make some new friends, but we know that might take more than one visit. =)
• The friendly folks at our Welcome Center can help you with any questions.
• We love kids! Our Children’s Ministry is safe, clean, and caring. More on that below!
• We take an offering in each service. What you give (or don’t give) is up to you.

What are our services like?

Most of our services are pretty simple. We sing a few songs, make a few announcements, pray, and learn.

• Our worship songs are a mix of traditional and contemporary. It’s not a show… our goal is to sing our thoughts and prayers to God. We believe He listens. The words to each song are displayed on big screens.
• We pray for those in need, for our missionaries, and more.
• Pastor Scott’s sermons focus on what God has said in the Bible. Most of the time, we study one book at a time… verse by verse.
• After the service, our pastors, elders, and other leaders are available down front to pray quietly with men and women who need prayer.
• We participate in The Lord’s Supper (communion) regularly. All believers are welcome to take part.

What about the Kids?

We love kids! Our Children’s Ministry is a lot of fun… and, because we take kids seriously, we’re very careful about who’s involved and what we do. When you come in the front doors, turn right. You’ll see a large check-in counter. Safety is a primary concern, so everybody gets a coded name tag. Caring, vetted leaders and helpers work together to make your kids comfortable, help them learn, and help them make new friends. If you have questions, Pastor Chase is the man to talk to.

What’s next?

After a few visits, we hope you’ll meet with us regularly. Here are just a few of the ways you can dig a little deeper with us:

• In addition to our Sunday School classes for children and youth, we have two main classes for adults. They meet in the sanctuary and in Room 101 at 9:45am. Our Welcome Center can point you in the right direction.
• Several times each year we host a free Newcomers Lunch where you can share a meal with a pastor or elder and ask questions about whatever is on your mind.
• Our Life Groups are small groups that meet in homes throughout the week, so we can get to know each other better and share life together.
• Supper Club is a great time to meet with 6 or 8 people from the church and share a potluck meal in a host’s home. These typically happen on the fourth Saturday of each month.
• You can get to know some folks in our church family at our church-wide potlucks on 5th Sundays in the gym, after the worship service. We also have a potluck and game night for all adults on the second Saturday each month, co-ed basketball on Mondays, and more. These are all great times of fun and fellowship!
